Halifax BIDÂ
pfbb UK developed the first Halifax BID following a feasibility study that brought key stakeholders together to form a steering group, surveyed businesses and delivered BID development workshops.
Halifax is home to the internationally acclaimed Eureka! children’s museum, was formerly home to Crossley Carpets, once the largest carpet mill in Europe, and is the site of one of the UK’s most significant heritage projects, the 18th-century Piece Hall. Rich in heritage, Halifax had nevertheless become overshadowed by neighbouring cities such as Leeds and Manchester, while also being subsumed within the wider political focus on promoting Calderdale.
The new BID was created to make the most of this heritage, helping Halifax become a more inclusive town for all and one ready to reclaim its place on the wider stage. Since then, the BID has been able to leverage significant funding to protect and enhance its heritage assets.
pfbb UK was proud to support Halifax through a successful second ballot in 2022, building on the BID’s achievements to date. We are now assisting the BID with preparations for its ballot for a third term, which, if successful, will run from 2027 to 2032.
