pfbb UK Ltd seek a BID Project Manager


Reporting to: pfbb UK Operations and Finance Director

Position:  Full Time

Salary:  circa £35,000 – £40,000 dependent upon experience

 Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week. Some evening and weekend working is required.

Location: Derby City Centre.

 This is a hugely exciting opportunity for the prospective candidate, managing the BIDs and  working closely with others to play an important part in helping the recovery, shaping and development of Derby City centre,

The Cathedral Quarter BID is in its 3rd five-year term, and St Peters Quarter is about to go to ballot for its third term. Both BIDs are well established and seen as distinct commercial areas in Derby city centre working closely with each other and with Derbion to form a distinct Derby offer to the resident and visitor alike.

You will be a business manager, accountable for the delivery of projects identified in the BID Business Plan and responsible for everything from budget management to business liaison to project scoping and delivery. You will work closely with other organisations such as the Derby City Council, University of Derby, Marketing Derby and Derbyshire Police and forge important relationships with businesses and partners across the city centre and the surrounding area.

You will be employed by Partnerships for Better Business, who are contracted to the BIDs, and known as one of the UK’s leading place management and BID consultancies in the UK, and with the specific remit for the Derby BID’s.

CANDIDATE: The successful candidate must have excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and the ability to develop productive relationships; a structured approach to their work, be able to operate as part of a small team and be self-motivated to work on their own initiative; The ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and be experienced in planning and  delivering multiple projects concurrently; and have confidence in managing changing requirements, able to action rapid impact analysis and make recommendations.

Key experience essential for the role:

  • Must have proven experience of responsibility for end-to-end project delivery, retail store management or other business or department management.
  • A structured and planned approach with attention to detail.
  • Budgeting and financial reporting skills
  • Previous experience of managing staff.
  • Outstanding stakeholder relationship skills (internal and external)
  • Excellent standard of spoken & written English
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent desirable
  • Excellent IT Skills
  • You will be able to prioritise and plan your own workload and be happy to work flexibly when required.
