PFBB UK and the Mary Portas report
Through our direct involvement in the Association of Town Centre Management (ATCM) and Department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) pfbb UK have an intimate knowledge of the thinking behind the Mary Portas report and her vision for town and city centres. If you are not familiar with the report and its recommendations you can download a copy through the link to the BIS website below.
Towns and cities today are facing a complex range of dynamics which are creating many challenges and if your town or city centre is to be the best it can be, the ways of doing things in the past will not be appropriate for the future. The government recognises this situation and is actively encouraging all towns and cities to think differently about the way in which they are ‘managed’.
This requires commitment from the local authority, local businesses and local investors to work together to create clear identities for their ‘high streets’ which mean something to the local people. In the introduction to the Mary Portas report she says that that ‘once we invest in and create social capital in the heart of our communities, the economic capital will follow’.
Our team has the skills and experience to support you in making your ‘high street the best it can be’. If you have any concerns about the future of your high street then call us and we will be happy to meet and discuss how we can help.
